At 24, I experienced life-altering PTSD after unearthing memories of a sexual assault that I had suppressed for 5+ years. Before and after that, I kept getting into toxic relationships, trapped in cycles of anxiety and codependency because I thought I needed someone to save me from myself. Healing my nervous system through somatic work didn’t just quiet the flashbacks — it taught me to trust, soothe, and care for the parts of me I’d abandoned for years.
Within six months, I met the love of my life in a coffee shop, my people-pleasing with friends and family dissolved, nourishing friendships replaced draining ones, and my confidence flourished. Now, I help women reclaim that same sense of safety, self-trust, and freedom in their own bodies, minds, and hearts.
I still experienced flashbacks and intimacy avoidance when I met my partner, and my anxious attachment was really overwhelming. However, with the right somatic tools, I have been able to radically deepen my healing and regulate into secure attachment. These practices are an intimate aspect of our relationship, and we use them to heal our respective wounds together, strengthen our bond, and exercise courageous vulnerability. It keeps us falling more in love each day, and I know it can do the same for your current or future relationship.
